Progressive Livestock was founded in 1999 when a then 30 year old stock agent in thriving Southland, Greg Collins, decided his clients could do with a more comprehensive service when it came to buying, selling and maximizing returns on their dairy livestock.

With a decade as a livestock agent under his belt, he knew no dairying business case was the same, each needs a tailored solution and this requires much more than just meeting the supply and demand for dairy livestock.

The key to Progressive Livestock business' early success was to get close up and personal with the key dairy farm stakeholders, learn their unique business case and deliver beyond their expectations.

As business grew, the company created a North Island division in 2008, to meet the demand for experienced agents on the ground to keep their finger on the pulse of business and achieve the best deals for their clients.
